Pity about Guernsey!
Colin Care | May 7, 2016 | P&O Cruises | Britannia
A lovely cruise around the Bay of Biscay calling at La Rochelle, Vigo and Lisbon. Wonderful ship, marvellous weather and great sea conditions spoilt only by yet again not being able to visit St.Peter Port in Guernsey due to dangerous tendering conditions. It is my fourth attempt with P&O to see this island – all unsuccessful due to bad tendering conditions. If it is that difficult to land the ships tenders why does the company continue using the island within its itineries and never have any contingency arrangements with other nearby French ports? It took us some 24 hours to crawl back to Southampton – the company saving berthing and other costs, instead benefitting from additional onboard spend by some 3000 passengers.
