A dumbed down cruise

A very mixed week on the new Iona Western Europe cruise.
A cruise that is dumbed down. No glamour now. Disappointing atrium. Everyone so scruffy. It’s a butlins on sea. Hot tubs on deck 8. Oh please this isn’t a TUI blu. This is going for an all inclusive vibe but this has lot’s of hidden payment extras. We like all inclusive but would book far better than this.
Service was good but no one looked happy probably because of the awful treatment they were receiving from the more skanky guests. The last minute deals with this large ship means that non cruise types are on this ship who will think it’s the norm to behave on a cruise like this. The arvia will be even worse.
We found our balcony cabin cramped and badly designed. Wardrobes at the side of the bed are ridiculous. A tiny balcony looking down on to deck 8 and fat loud noisy people piled in to the hot tubs.
The cabin could have been cleaner but a lack of staff. Not one sheet change in a week and that’s terrible. This is a cruise people. No turn down service still. Ridiculous.
The food was great but could have been more varied. Sindu is much better on the Brittania which is so much better in every way.
The entertainment was very wheeltappers and shunter very poor.
The shops were awful for such a large ship.
We liked that you could walk around deck 8.
The sky dome is chavy and the acrobatic act is certainly no cirque du solei.
All in all not very good. If this was our first cruise I wouldn’t book another one. Got a Brittania Caribbean cruise Dec 30th if this isn’t good we’ll change our cruise line.
