best family holiday ever

We travelled as a family on Iona last week. The grandchildren and my daughter had never cruised before and so as we have cruised 12 times we were able to advise them what to expect. Iona is fabulous ship of course is brand new and even though our cabin was small – deck 4 – we had the family next door so that made up for it. It was very quiet and we were luck with the weather – sunshine every day and no rough seas. We loved the formal night and it was so lovely to see the family in their evening wear. The food was good although some a bit repetative but we enjoyed all four restaurants and lovely to have the choice. The only draw back was the queuing for covid testing which took over an hour and my husband was very frail. There should be a system where people who cannot queue because of a medical condition get priority. But all in all a wonderful cruise. We didnt do many excursions but the family did every day and they loved them they were so well organised. Would I travel on Iona again – possibly if we are with the family but we do like the smaller more intimate cruise ships for just ourselves. All in all a holiday to remember
