First time cruiser

This was my first sea cruise so I was concerned about my sea legs, or lack of… turns out Iona is so large that she’s very stable. We were told it would be at 75% capacity but there were 4100/5000 potential guests. The queues for the lifts were ridiculous at times with no priority given to those with mobility issues, prams or wheelchairs. P&O knew weeks prior that the berthing at Geiranger wasn’t possible yet left it until the week before we went to cancel our shore trip and re-fund. The same trip could be taken from Helsyllt but was going to cost us a lot more as it now included the journey to Geiranger, as my refund wasn’t yet in my bank I refused to re-book. Not enough time in Olden for trip to the Viking Museum as the coach was late arriving at the port, very upset as we were to be making a necklace there 🙁 The Sky lift at Olden was absolutely stunning but not for those with a fear of heights. Haugesand was the only large town with shops for buying anything other than Trolls or outdoor clothing. Dining was fabulous as long as you book one of the 4 MDR, the buffet was far too busy to get served and seated most of the time. The dining room staff were just lovely, nothing was too much trouble and they chatted if you chatted to them. Cabin ‘turn down’ was sparodic, got biscuits for the 1st 3 days then nothing… Limelight club and the theatre were brilliant, as was the comedian Jack Ryan. Overall very happy but definitely a smaller ship next time, do many people for me.
