Iona cruise 18/9/21

First cruise in two years. Covid test at Southampton was smooth and efficient. We parked the car with CPS, great service. Embarkation hall was crowded with a queue for several of the procedures we had to navigate. Once on board we were directed to our assembly station and then to our cabin where we watched the emergency procedure on the TV, We had a balcony cabin on deck 12. Very pleased although the wardrobe space would be tight on a long cruise. USB ports in the bedside lights and three 13 amp sockets was a nice surprise.
We ate in the Pearl restaurant for the first 3 nights but found the service slow and sometimes items ordered for breakfast failed to appear until the waiter was reminded.
We were impressed with the choice of eating places and enjoyed the Italian restaurant as well as the Fish and chips at Hook, and Vinegar.
there was lots of seating everywhere although the ship was only half full.
The Headliners show was 3 times a night and then repeated the following night.
We had great weather and although the ship stayed at sea we weren’t bored at all and always enjoyed all the venues.
Afternoon tea in the Aqua restaurant was too much food and we failed to eat everything that was offered.
We have booked again on Iona for next February for a 14 night cruise and made sure to land a similar cabin.
