Lovely ship but too laid back!
Linda Milson | February 7, 2022 | P&O Cruises | Iona
Overall, I really enjoyed this cruise and the ship is amazing with lots of different eateries and bars. In particular, I enjoyed Keel and Cow and the Quays. However, there were some guests who were clearly on a booze cruise!! They were loud and occasionally used offensive language! This would never have been tolerated a few years ago. Many of the crew working in bars chatted amongst themselves and it took ages to be served. The Retreat is a complete waste of money at £40 per day! No choice of food and it’s handed to you in a container made up of a mixture of salads such as avocado and boiled quails egg-Yuck! I left and demanded my money back.I don’t know how P&O can charge over £200 for 2 weeks there when half the time the weather is too poor to make good use of it!!
I loved my single cabin, although a bedside table would have been useful
Although Iona is a lovely ship, I think I will stick with Aurora and Arcadia where hopefully the traditional standards of cruising are upheld.
