Mega Ships Not For Us
Keith Cooper | December 29, 2022 | P&O Cruises | Iona
Unfortunately mega ship cruising is not for us. The ship is well designed and provides what it says on the tin. Great for a family holiday in the ‘Butlins at Sea’ style of cruising. For us, far too many people and for the majority of time a noise level which became intolerable. Screaming babies in the Crows Nest in the evening not our bag!
The food was good as was the service most of the time. The need to have to use the ‘My Holiday App’ for booking most things is frustrating and does not provide far a relaxing holiday.
In a nutshell the ship reflects the strategy P&O have adopted for the future. Sadly not for us and a shame that their small/medium size ships are nearly all gone. A pity as we have had some great times with P&O over the last 30yrs. We’ve already started to migrate to Fred’s and are considering giving SAGA a go.
