Seacation on Iona

An excellent cruise. Under normal circumstances I wouldn’t have booked a cruise which didn’t call at any ports but in fact we found it relaxing. One thing I missed, though, was being able to take pictures of this stunning ship in port.
Accommodation, food and entertainment were all first class and because we sailed with only half the passenger capacity there was plenty of room to do whatever we wanted.
The staff were amazing, efficient, courteous, and friendly. It’s a massive ship but after a couple of days we were able to find our way around quite easily. Despite staying in the fearful Bay of Biscay, the Captain was able to follow a series of areas of high pressure and kept us in the sun throughout.
Covid restrictions were respected by everyone. It was simple:if indoors wear a mask. The theatre and restaurants had to be booked via the ship’s app which was easy to operate.
Unusually, there was no razor/toothbrush socket in the bathroom. Take an adapter.
Travelling to Southampton, we prefer to go by coach, particularly as we live some way from the port. Your luggage goes in the boot and you next see it when it has been delivered to your cabin.
It was all a magical experience and we can’t wait for our next cruise in April.
