Wonderful Iona
Mrs Patricia L Tacey | October 31, 2021 | P&O Cruises | Iona
Our trip to the Canary Islands, Spain and Portugal was blessed with lovely sunny weather so plenty of time outside on the very wide promenade deck and sunbathing areas. Lots of sunbeds and chairs and an unlimited supply of towels. Embarkation was quite straightforward. The most difficult part getting through the Saturday Southampton traffic after being tested.
We had all but one of our evening meals in the Coral MDR and found the service to be very good. A lot of the waiting staff are quite young, full of enthusiasm and are obviously still learning their trade but happy and very polite.
Bearing in mind that this was only the second cruise out of British waters it all went very well. We were allowed off independently at each of the stops so no need to book an excursion if you preferred not to. We had to miss Cadiz as the weather was quite breezy and the Captain made the decision not to attempt to navigate into the harbour.
All in all a very good holiday, glad to be back cruising!
