17 night Cruise to A Greek Island from 18 Sept 2018

Our first time on this ship which we found to be very enjoyable – Club Dining Food was a marked improvement from that on Aurora in May 2018
We ate in Sindhu on 3 occasions – the first night as they offered a third off and as usual the food was excellent and the experience wonderful.
Cabin with a walk in wardrobe and a very large balcony was brilliant – entertainment excellent with Jimmy James and also the Ventura Orchestra – 7 musicians from Hungary. We enjoyed having drinks in Metropolis and saw an excellent Jazz Session by the Ventura Orchestra.
The lectures were most enjoyable as were the Classical Duo.
Real Ale on the ship in The Exchange with Dark Star Hophead – wonderful.
We selected this cruise solely because of the Itinerary – we were told by friends ‘ You must go to Mykonos and Santorini ‘ Unfortunately due to adverse weather conditions we had to miss both of these destinations along with Katokolon so 2 nights in Piraeus and a call to Sardinia were by no means a satisfactory alternative.
One of our fellow passengers heard a tour guide saying that P & O had contacted him about his availability to a changed date on a shore excursion 3 weeks prior to the ship arriving . We were rewarded?! with Free Drinks in the Atrium which turned out to be a very undignified Rugby Scrum to say the least with some people not even managing to be served! I believe that a £100 on board credit per person or off a future P & O cruise would have been a better recompense especially as P & O would have got the money back.
We enjoyed a very good Caribbean Tier Lunch in a restaurant but half way through the luncheon somewhat put out to hear the announcement that between 1-2 they were giving an additional 10 per cent off fragrances etc – We had purchased a bottle of perfume about an hour before the lunch and felt that the shop assistant should have given us the nod as some have previously on other ships !
Unfortunately, my brother at home in the UK had been admitted to hospital halfway through the cruise and of course for the first time I had omitted to leave our three children details of the ship etc only dates when my mobile was going to be switched on. They tracked us down and we received a visit from Ivan the Reception Manager who asked us to call my eldest daughter and he allowed us a complimentary ship to shore telephone call which we much appreciated this gesture but it didn’t end there a couple of days later he asked if we needed flights arranged and just to let him know if the situation had changed – FIRST CLASS SERVICE .
On the whole it was one of the best cruises we have taken and if we had been able to visit the two scheduled Greek Islands IT WOULD HAVE BEEN OUSTANDING.
Still seething that we only received a couple of drinks in recompense of our disappointment
