Amazing Cruise and Amazing Ship
Wayne | August 26, 2019 | P&O Cruises | Ventura
I had last seen Ventura 5 years ago, therefore it was nice seeing her for the first time all over again, I don??t think city terminal is the best to get the impact as to how huge these ships are, but we got a great shot of her rear end shining in the sun, this was a good start to the day. Boarding was very quick and all staff very welcoming. When we arrived at our cabins, the childrens section of the suite had been made up for them with pink and blue bedding and welcome balloons, this was a very nice touch and one the children liked.
The buffet restaurants always had a very good choice and the standard of the food in there was very good, we took the children to the kids buffet everyday and on the one day there was nothing my son liked the waiters/chefs were very accomodating in finding/making him something. We had lunch a couple of times from the poolside grill, the service here was always very fast and friendly.
Bring a frustrated song and dance man (who can neither sing nor dance) I enjoyed the evening shows by the ships entertainers, My daughter especially liked the dancing and we had to go and see one show twice she liked it that much. There was a comedian on the last night, who apparantly supported some big names in the 80’s, you could tell he had as this is where his act belonged, was ok but a little disappointing as a last night of holiday show.
I had never been in a cabin with a butler before and to be honest was a little worried that I would feel intimidated, this wasn??t the case at all, after he introduced himself shortly after we arrived we only saw him once a day when he brought us that evenings menus, he certainly had an easy week with us as we didn??t use him or contact him at all. He did earn his salt when he brought us the priority tender voucher to get off in Guernsey, felt very naughty to walk past the huge queues but great with it.
If I had one complaint it would be the price of the onboard photographs, I think I must have spent over ?300 on buying these and I didn??t get all of the ones we wanted as simply couldn??t afford them, I asked on the last morning as we were disembarking if any deals to be done as they would be throwing them away once I got off but there was nothing doing.
An amazing cruise on an amazing ship with even more amazing cocktails
