Brilliant cruise- shame about the passengers.

We have just returned from a Carribean Cruise to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We were somewhat sceptical as to whether we would enjoy Ventura having travelled previously on smaller ships. We were not fazed by the size and in fact found the lay out so easy to follow; it was only on sea days when we realised the actual numbers. Overall the Cruise more than matched our expectations, with the quality of the food, entertainment and service in line with the standards we previously experienced on P and O Cruises. The downsize unfortunately was the detioration in the standards of people’s behaviour. This thankfully referred to a small minority who appeared to have forsaken their typical Benidorm holiday for a Cruise. Despite announcements, blocking of sunbeds obviously did not refer to them; towels were going out very early, especially on sea days to protect their ” must have spots”. it was getting to the farcical stage that there were also putting towels on beds in the shaded areas, presumably to cool off when they got too hot!! Entertainment as already stated was good but it is so rude and discourteous to keep talking while the acts are in progress; presumably they thought they were down the local pub and it did not matter. Both my wife and I are non-smokers but if others want to smoke good luck to them. Although there were restrictions in the areas that passengers could smoke this was being abused. We found this more when there were deck parties, which were more like bonfire parties, but I can understand that Carnival would not want to put a ban on smoking I just wish they would police this better as the majority as opposed to the minority are being victimised. We enjoy P and O and would have no reservations about future cruises; hopefully when we next take a cruise the minority will have returned to their Benidorm holiday where they can be as ignorant and slobbish as they normally behave.
