Caribbean and USA 05Feb 2018

Having completed our 3rd world cruise, with P&O, in 2016 which we were very disappointed with we decided to book this 35 night cruise. Overall we were also disappointed with this one. The excuse of a refit immediately on completion of this cruise was little consolation. The carpets in the cabin, balcony grade, were very worn and stained although the cabin steward did her best to keep us clean and tidy. The shops also were closed for the last day’s of the cruise and these are a selling point when P&O advertise. No mention of the ship needing a refit or shops closing was made before departure or indeed us paying our balance. The arrangements for our first port of entry into the USA, New Orleans, were very poor (not enough custom officials) and meant that the first of a two day stopover was lost. Surely P&O – Carnival could have made better arrangements with customs speeding up entry. The 2 day stop in Charleston was also disappointing as the ship didn’t dock until 10.00 am,so we could get off by 11.00 am, and passengers had to be back on board by 13.30 the following day. Definately will not be booking with P&O in the near future.
