Christmas and New Year Canaries cruise

Although we have cruised many times during the past 25 years it was our first at Christmas time and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience from the moment we boarded. The atmosphere created for the holiday period was magical with fantastic lights trees and decorations throughout the ship, individual Christmas trees in the cabins and even a Christmas market day.

We has a 2 year old in our party who was enthralled throughout with so much to do in the “Reef” (children’s club) and other events around the ship including taking part in the Nativity Play on Christmas Day in the main theatre wonderfully organised in just 3 days by the Reef/Entertainment staff.

This is a very happy ship and the staff in every department contributed fully to ensure we had an enjoyable holiday. The food was excellent throughout in the main restaurant and we also enjoyed the “Glass House ” eatery experience.

P&O went to great lengths to ensure both Christmas Day and New Years Day were celebrated with special Black Tie dinners at sensible times so we could also enjoy the other events going on in the ship.

In summary a wonderful experience on a superb ship supported by happy friendly staff who worked really hard to make sure we had a good holiday.

We would certainly recommend it, however, at the time of writing it appears P & O are not planning a similar event covering both Christmas and New Year for 2019.
