Christmas Market Cruise
Ian Bridge | December 8, 2022 | P&O Cruises | Ventura
Our recent short Christmas Market cruise on Ventura was enjoyable, although we did experience some elements that detracted from our usual enjoyment.
1. Firstly we tried to make a booking for Sindu’s the morning after embarkation, only to be told they were fully booked for the whole cruise. That did seem to be strange as later during the cruise every-time we passed Sindu’s, it was no where near full with many empty tables.
2. The Glass House was also not in used for meals the whole cruise, again very disappointing.
3. Also very disappointed that afternoon tea was not served in one of the restaurants, meaning a mad scramble in the cafeteria.
4. As a Coeliac when in the cafeteria, no ‘Gluten-Free’ scones were available, and told that there were none on board. A staff helper called ‘Wellington’ did however make enquiries for me, and one of the chefs did kindly make some. Very nice to have fresh scones although due to the baking delay the other members in my party had finished their afternoon tea and had already departed the cafeteria.
I hope the above mentioned items are not going to become the norm, after Carnival have already made past changes which we greatly believe have already detracted from the excellent P&O standard of the past.
