Cruise N526
Norman Wane | August 6, 2017 | P&O Cruises | Ventura
CruiseN526 was unlike any we had previously experienced. A bit like “the curates’ egg” -good in parts ! We were overwhelmed by the size of the ship. Future cruises – we shall look for a smaller ship. Good points were the open dining in the Saffron Restaurant where the menus were very good and the service exemplary. Other meals taken in the Waterside Caf?? where the selection of dishes was good and service excellent. Cabin: Adequate, comfortable & well serviced.
Criticisms : Apart from after dinner one could not get a cup of “ground” coffee. If one did not like “Costa” -tough!
The coffee from the self service machines in the Waterside Caf?? was very weak and unpalatable.
Unsupervised competitive deck games were not a success.
Too much “background music” in the Waterside Caf?? and at peak times the caf?? was very noisy. Together these made
conversation difficult. Ship could do with a serviced “quiet room” with fresh coffee available. Library was excellent.
Spent far too much time waiting for lifts. One was out of order the whole cruise.
Never saw a deck officer the whole cruise.
