I have cruised before on Ventura so knew exactly what to expect which is why i chose to go on this ship again. I love this ship and think i enjoyed it more this time than the last time i went on in 2008. I did expect the ship to look very tired as shes due her refit soon but was very surprised as shes still looking really good.
As we stepped onboard the staff were all smiles and very helpful guiding passengers to their cabins. When we got in our cabin we were very impressed as we have never had a superior balcony. We were amazed by the cabin as it was so spacious and the extra touches like champagne on arrival, chocolates and flowers really made it. The two flat screens televisions were great too as you can sit on the sofa and watch a film rather than on the bed and have the music channel on for when you sit on the balcony. It was lovely to have a spacious bathroom with bath and shower option and the hanging space was great.
As the cruise went on i became more impressed with most things. The live bands on the ship that played around the pool and in Tamarind club were fantastic . The entertainment staff on board were great and very funny and the kids and adults all seemed to love the swimming pool competitons, quizzes and sailaway parties the staff put on. The food in the buffet and the BBQ we had twice whilst onboard was lovely as the food was cooked nice and plenty of choice. The speciality restaurants were worth every penny and the food was beautiful and service was fantastic.
The shows we enjoyed on the ship the most were the comedians, although there material is dated they were funny and most people on the ship seemed to enjoy them also.
We had a fantastic cruise with P&O and loved the Caribbean islands.
