Guernsey Mini Cruise

I booked this mini cruise to Guernsey for a celebration weekend – along with everyone else on board, no doubt. The ship was as expected – clean, with a comfortable room and Guernsey was lovely with fabulous weather in mid September.
The downside – the bars on the first day (Friday) were so busy that service took a very long time – the Sunday morning breakfast was hectic with everyone trying to get a bite to eat before disembarking – so – nowhere to sit and long queues for every food and drinks station. Also, it came as something of a shock to find out that our room had to be vacated by 8am on the Sunday morning – so we were barely on the ship for 40 hours and it was all a bit of a whirlwind. I don’t know if there were any drinks packages available, as none were offered by either of the 2 companies and so our drinks bill was quite high – approx ?œ200, this was a celebration weekend after al!
No one at Bolsover Cruise Club or at P&O were prepared to give me an embarkation or arrival time until a few days before the trip, which made organising transport to Southampton and back extremely difficult and frustrating. I had to rely on the driver of our minibus company to tell me the best time for him to drop us off on the Friday and collect us on the Sunday.
All in all – a very expensive, mediocre experience, which I won’t be repeating in a hurry.
