P&O Ventura cruuse to Spain, Portugal and Guernsey

Cruise took us to Santander, an interesting city but commercial port where we docked was unfit for a cruise ship.
Vigo another interesting city with a superb city centre berth.
Lisbon, a 2.day stay with a very central city berth. A great city for any occasion.
Porto an ancient steep city built overlooking the Duro river…facinating.
St Peter Port a tendering port but one with charm and is easily explored.
Ventura is tired. Refit next spring us not soon enough. Our balcony furniture was tatty and paint splashed.
One day while ashore the balcony above us had its handrail varnish removed and repainted. Our furniture and floor was covered in old varnish. Complained to reception who promised action and actioned none. I contacted our cabin steward who was mortified…he cleand it up while we were at dinner.
Disembarkation was chaos and disorganised. Senior staff at our muster station were very rude to some guests.
At HM Queens death, the staff were very good at keeping guests informed, ship lowered its flag and captain led a Memorial church service on the Sunday…this was well done including books of remembrace for those who wanted to leave any messages.
Overall we enjoyed the cruise but P&O have work to do to get us back on board!
Good not great.
