recent Med cruise ups & downs.

Sailed on 11/6/14 transfer from Nice to Genoa took nearly 3 hrs. but nice drive along coast road. First time on Ventura, Cabin was excellent steward Rosevelt excellent nothing to much trouble. Food was very good in dining room although choice a little less than on Azura last year. When you think they are discounting the cruises up to 80% I think they are still giving excellent value for money. The main complaint I had was our stop in Venice. P&O supplied a water taxi from the ship to 200 yds from St. Marks Square. This was stated in large print on paper stating that it would cost us ?œ15.00. for one day or ?œ25.00 for two days . Fair enough these things cost money, with my wife not able to walk far like many other cruisers I was able to tell her she would see St. Marks Sq. after all.When we set off for the taxi to exit the terminal must have been 300 yds. and then a further 430 yds to the boat.(paced it out ) My wife managed one day only. When I spoke to reception about this I was bluntly told to take my complaint to head office. In the small print on one of the leaflets it was stated the walk was 300 mtrs.. If the reception had took the time to listen and make a token refund it would build trust with their clients. Large glass of wine in theatre costs ?œ6.75. a bit pricey. Cost of drinks vary around the ship.
