transatlantic Caribbean cruise Ventura January 2022
Maureen Smith | February 15, 2022 | P&O Cruises | Ventura
We were very much looking forward to winter sunshine and cruising again. We made lots of sacrifices over Christmas and New year to ensure we were able to board on 3rd of January. We had been fed lots of scare stories – food off paper plates, unable to leave the ship etc. Not true, there were protocols that required us to limit 4 to a lift. Masks when moving about in the ship and while seated in the theatre. I’m pleased to say the majority of passengers adhered to the rules. We only went to the theatre once, and despite one hour earlier, the entertainment director reminding passengers of the need to wear a mask in the theatre, the gentleman in front of us had his mask only covering his mouth and the older gentleman at the side of us had his mask round his neck. I think that this could easily have been policed by a member of the crew was patrolling the theatre.
The ship was at half capacity and cabins at the back of the ship were reserved for passengers who caught covid and new members of staff who had to isolate when they joined the ship.
Crew were continually in sight cleaning surface areas, we felt very confident that P&O were taking their responsibilities seriously. Can’t wait for our next cruise at the end of February.
I hope this reassures anyone who has doubts about recommencing travel.
