Venice to Venice april2014

The cruise started very well the day before departure when we were upgraded to a suite.The suite was very comfortable it felt like complete luxury well serviced by the butler. The other bonus of a suite was that we had breakfast in the Marco white restaurant where the food was freshly prepared unfortunately because of the generally cool weather we were only able to eat outside once. We chose club dining were very fortunate with our table companions and again well served by the staff. We looked forward to the dinners although we felt that 4 formal dinners in a fortnight were too many. We felt that there was clear evidence of cost cutting so far as the entertainment was concerned both night and day the evening entertainment apart from the Opera Boys ranged from poor to fair the comics were simply not funny,we left one comedian when he was crude beyond belief and another when having told his first”joke” he had to explain he had done so. The daytime entertainment lacked any interest,the main speaker was just poor and the rest of the daytime entertainment was simply uninteresting fortunately there was a library which provided sufficient books for the duration of the cruise staffed a real treasure as indeed were all the staff P&O can be justly proud of their staff. Marks for the cruise 8.5 out of 10.
