Ventura to Amsterdam

The cruise to Amsterdam was substituted at the last minute and we ended up by going to Cherbourg and LeHarve.
As you can imagine we were very disappointed and not a good start as this was our first cruise. We didn’t depart the ship at Cherbourg one because we had been before and two the weather was awful ( very wet ) .
When reaching Le Harve on the Wednesday evening we decided to go ashore. Before we could do this we had to wait while shore crew tried for ages to get the gang plank in place , we eventually departed the ship and had a long walk into the town .
On returning to the ship we had to wait for over an hour to board as again the ground crew were having trouble with the gang plank . By this time there were a lot of angry , frustrated , and hungry passengers .
We had booked trips in Amsterdam which sadly weren’t done through P&O so we lost money on those . We paid out on a train journey to Rouen which we did enjoy . The whole cruise experience was overall very good , just not where we wanted to go .
