Wonderful Cruising

We have just returned from a fortnight on Ventura in the Caribbean and enjoyed (again) every minute, we did see some evidence of costs being cut in a lower standard of performance from some of the Headliners Production Company where a couple of their performances were less than their usual excellence…..but this was the only area where we were affected by any cost cutting. The rest of the service was the usual excellent standard and if it can get any better it was better in our cabin steward who was wonderful and our waiters who again were great.

Everything was spotless as usual and we were impressed by the continued use of the hand gel even though there were no outbreaks of Norovirus on board. P&O should give tutorials to some of our hospitals on how to manage infection in a tight environment as they have now really got a handle on how to do this impressively. We would also like to compliment the captain of Ventura on his visibility – he daily visited the restaurants and spoke to guests all the time….and of course he ran a great ship at the same time – quite a feat!

The only thing we would like improved for the future is the speed and reliability of the internet/Email links which are still pretty poor…..but apart from this we both agreed that we had had another wonderful and relaxing holiday visiting lots of different destinations and we really cannot find this anywhere else but with P&O and Princess…..they leave other cruise/holiday companies in the shade.
