Yet another very good Caribbean cruise on Ventura
Harold Evans (Sid) | September 10, 2013 | P&O Cruises | Ventura
We flew from Birmingham to Barbados on a Thomson Boeing 787 Dreamliner. It was a very comfortable flight, with good food, but P&O are obviously tightening the purse strings as tea, coffee & , soft drinks all had to be paid for. How mean is that, shame on you P & O. The only other criticism is very poor entertainment on this cruise, with the exception of Tom O’ Connor & the Cuban Magician who were both excellent yet again!
I must give P & O credit for the way they treat people with mobility problems, they are the best by far. Within 90 minutes of landing, we were in our Balcony Cabin on C Deck, where Canute looked after us very well. We chose Freedom Dining as we enjoyed it so much when we first tried it, on Arcadia, last September. Once again we found it suited us … We like to dine early, so eating at 6pm rather than 6- 30 was ideal. We could then stroll along to the theatre at a leisurely pace if we wanted to. We knew from the itinerary that we were unlikely to go ashore at Saint Vincent & Dominica, & added Tortola to the list when it involved tendering this time. We basically went for the weather, which was very good nearly every day, although quite windy at times. Will wego again? YES, but next time we’ll try & revisit places like Margarita Island, Aruba, Bonaire & Cura??ao where we have not been for quite some time.
So well done yet again P&O ( & Thomson Airways who brought us back 45 minutes early!) but please stop the payment for soft drinks etc as it is a very miserly way of doing things, considering how much money a plane load of holiday makers have spent to enjoy themselves with your company!
