My first time with Regent did not dissapoint!
I. Ramsden | September 15, 2021 | Regent Seven Seas Cruises | Seven Seas Splendor
It’s been over 18 months since I last stepped foot on a cruise ship but from the moment I entered the grand entrance of Seven Seas Splendor, the fond memories spent at sea all came back.
Due to Covid-19 it was mandatory for all guests to participate in a rapid lateral flow test, this took place in a designated area at the cruise terminal, and I had my results back in just under 15 minutes. Along with a reduced capacity of guests onboard, it was really reassuring to know that everyone who I would be sailing with had also produced a negative test.
I haven’t travelled with Regent before and had thought that it would be a very formal experience however I couldn’t have been more wrong. The atmosphere on the ship was opulent yet relaxed, staff were very welcoming, and I was in awe at the timeless décor and around every turn.
The food on Splendor was exceptional, and over the course of the cruise I dined in all 3 speciality restaurants – Chartreuse, Prime 7 and Pacific Rim and spent the final night enjoying the food in the main restaurant Compass Rose.
We stayed in the Splendor Suite which was breathtakingly beautiful, with L’Occitane bath amenities, a welcome bottle of champagne, canapes and a very pleasant butler who couldn’t have been more helpful.
During the day, Splendor pulled into ports along the English coast like Portland and Falmouth, where we joined an informative shore excursion to the quaint Cornish village of St. Mawes. By evening we would watch the most amazing performances in the Constellation Theatre, almost every time finishing with a well-deserved standing ovation. Then we would watch the ship’s band in the Meridian Lounge before dancing into the early hours with a cocktail or two in the Splendor bar.
My first time on a Regent cruise was truly unforgettable and I was blown away by the all-inclusivity which allowed for a truly relaxing and carefree cruise experience – I will recommend to all!
