This cruise was a celebration for my 75th Birthday on the 4th May. As I have recently lost my husband it was decided that my Daughter and Grandchildren would take me on this cruise. I have cruised with my husband so many times that I have lost count, the last one being on the Brilliance of the Seas, we thought this on the Adventure would be similar. How wrong we were! It was supposed to have been refurbished prior coming over to England, we couldn’t see any signs of refurbishment. It was more like a booze cruise or has the saying goes ‘Butlins at Sea’. We could smell sewerage in several parts of the ship, the entertainment was VERY poor and even the food wasn’t the usual standard. The street shows weren’t a bit like on the Brilliance and far too much smoke puffing out, I’m sure there was a fault with it as we could smell smoke. The cruise director was very poor in organising things as well. The only good points were our fantastic cabin steward and dining staff.
On the day at sea there was no activities worth partaking in, not even an ice carving demonstration and has this was the first cruise for 2 of the party the whole experience was disappointing and has put them off completely.
We’ve all come back with stomach problems which we’ve never done before.
Both my daughter and myself have cruised with RCI many times but I don’t think we will again.
