Very Disappointing!!
Karen Abrahams | April 4, 2019 | Royal Caribbean International | Adventure of the Seas
Our 5th cruise with Royal Carribean, 2nd time on Adventure of the Seas from Southampton May 2013. All we can say is we were quite disappointed for the following reasons:- 2 days before we set sail we were told our dining time was changed to 5.30pm!! We adults with no children, so did not want to eat at 5.30pm because apparantly they changed it due to the amount of children on board. 5.30 is far too early and that is why we specified 6pm. We tried to change to my time dining but the waiting list was too long!! I wonder why!! 2nd port was like being in a prison fortress which we know cant be helped, but then to charge $15 per person for the shuttle coach into the town was disgraceful and a ripoff!! How dare Royal Caribbean charge that amount on top of what the cruise had cost. We heard and saw many people quite disgusted by this and when we went to express our views, Im afraid the gentleman at the desk was most unaccommodating and basically said that it was tough and that would be the charge for all the ports. We were not happy to say the least. The entertainment during the day and quite frankly at night would have been better at Butlins!!! During the day apart from the odd short quiz or trying to get a space at the cimema when the weather was poor, we literally sat and did nothing! The shows at night were very poor, infact we only went to 3 out of 7 shows!! Although the food and the service are still excellent, we also felt the choice had dwindled since previous cruises. Sailing from Southampton also has its downside as some of the people that are now getting good deals for these cruises leave alot to be desired!! Again Butlins springs to mind!! You can certainly feel and see the cutbacks which we understand have to happen, but when we have paid for a cruise you dont expect such a sudden drop in Royal Caribbean standards. We do feel that we wont be cruising with Royal Caribbean again. Would appreciate your response and comments.
Kind regards
