What a lovely surprise!!!
Jane Dobbins | July 11, 2017 | Royal Caribbean International | Independence of the Seas
Well it was with fear and trepidation that we boarded this enormous ship in the port of Southampton with our daughter and three grandchildren 10,9 & 3 …..’H20′ water park was the first stop and into the water 9with preplanning to take costumes on board in hand luggage)!! It was amazing for all children including ourselves as we were children once!!**
Windjammer restaurant was a great watering hole at virtually anytime of day along with Sprinklers ice cream on deck which was a definite choice every time we passed by especially as it was complimentary…
Our first view of the tiered restaurants spanning three decks was stunning and certainly lived up to expectations with service and food.
The head chef often popped out to see us for a chat, as did head waiter Travis Harry who was very fantastic, when our waiter Ravi and assistant Keisha were swamped with people arriving for first sitting normally on second!! He served us personally it was lovely.
The entertainment was brilliant with the Ice show taking top spot for us. Flow rider was amazing too with the staff totally committing to help everyone who attempted to try it.
TheRoyal Promenade of shops and restaurants was a real hub of the ship with lots of events most evenings with Sorrentos Pizza cafe very popular with our Grandbabes.
Johnny Rockets restaurant with small cover charge(totally worth it) served fantastic food and mouthwatering desserts along with lovely milk shakes. Not to mention the very welcoming staff who dance while you are eating ( I did join them as it was Saturday night fever and not to be missed!!)
Mostly plenty of sun beds available although still the few people who leave their towels and books and clear off for a couple of hours…difficult to police is understandable.
The adult areas looked great and should we decide to take a cruise on our own we felt this would be lovely as plenty of adult ares on ship.
Our ports of call were great albeit Norway is very expensive!!
So well done Royal Caribbean Cruises you have excelled again as does your Celebrity ships…..now both firm favourites of ours….bring on the next cruise….
Thank you to ‘Bolsover Cruises’ who made the whole booking and boarding so simple..thank you to all.
