Don’t Know

Waiters in all restaurants were fantastic. Our room attendant was also fantastic – he always seemed to be smiling, so always brightened our day. Our waiter (6pm formal seating) kept telling us there was a survey to fill in, but I can’t find it anywhere? We wanted to fill it in and give him 10/10! Excellent food as well
Kids club not very good. My children were 6 and 11. 11 year old went twice and hated it both times. All they did were sporty type team games, and she is not a sporty team game type person at all. She wanted to do lots of arts and crafts, but even when she asked they basically just implied she was being a miserable sod for not wanting to join in with all the “fun” – but she doesn’t find this kind of thing fun! She likes doing art work, craft work, building models, doing science experiments and completing maths type puzzles – the kids club did NONE of these things. My younger daughter enjoyed it more, but even she wasn’t bothered about going back after the second time she went.
I don’t know what it is about kids clubs for older kids – it’s not just Royal Caribbean who make this mistake – they seem to think all children above age 6 will want to play sporty team games and will have no interest in art or crafts or playing on a computer etc??? I’m a secondary school teacher and I can safely say there is an even mix of children who want to be doing sporty team games and children who want to do something more sedentary eg. arts/crafts/puzzles/computers?? Why not offer both? There were enough staff – there were three members of staff on, but only one of them ever seemed to be doing anything. The male member of staff was always there playing games with the kids, and the other two (female) members of staff just seemed to be stood around, occasionally signing children in/out. Why didn’t they sit with half the kids and do a sedentary craft based activity? Both of my children (including the older one) wanted to go in the 3-5 group because they were always doing loads of arts/crafts stuff in there!
