Sicily and Malta with Star Flyer
Kenneth Scott | November 25, 2015 | Star Clippers | Star Flyer
This was our 4th cruise with Star Clippers. In some ways the least satisfactory, mainly because of timing. The cruise covered over
1100 miles in 12 days which was a lot of time at sea, leaving relatively little time to visit on shore when we docked. There were in addition several times when the ship lay at sea motionless for some hours, presumably waiting for harbour or anchorage times. This is I imagine to reduce the cost of mooring. There was also a lack of information about what was happening during these interludes. Star Clippers would be better putting up the cost a bit if this is an issue. There was also a stop at Porto Empedocle in Sicily which must rank as the most awful place I have ever visited. These ships are a great experience but they need to tighten up on some of the details.
