Royal Caribbean International is offering families the opportunity to enjoy a cruise holiday worth up to £10,000 paid for in ‘excitement’ instead of cash.

The family cruise line is inviting people to share a video of their children’s excitement at being told that they are going on a Royal Caribbean cruise holiday, with one family receiving the cost of their holiday back in full. Guests are encouraged to capture creative, exciting and endearing clips of them breaking the news and upload the video to Instagram or Facebook tagging @RoyalCarribeanUK with #PayByExcitement or @MyRoyal with #PayByExcitement on Twitter. Entries are open now until 23.59hrs GMT on 11 February 2020. The winning family will also be able to redeem the cost of their flights and transfers, within a total of £10,000.

In addition to a free holiday, Royal Caribbean will also appoint the winning child or children the coveted title of ‘SEA-E-O’ (that’s Chief Excitement Officer). They will hold the title for 12 months and will be able to report back to the cruise line on the excitement levels they experiences on board their Royal Caribbean ship.

It will be a tall order to become our new SEA-E-O (Chief Excitement Officer), and only the most excitable people should put their hat in the ring. We’re looking forward to converting excitement into holiday currency by throwing in a complimentary family holiday and speciality meals on the house, based on the most brilliant responses. We know how excited children get when told they’re going on a family holiday, especially when the holidays includes fun-inducing activities like sliding down Daredevil’s Peak, the tallest slide at sea at Perfect Day at CocoCay, Royal Caribbean’s private island in the Bahamas, or testing their skydining skills or channelling their inner surfer on FlowRider, the first surf simulator at sea. We hope our quest will help brighten up everyone’s January with some heart-warming reactions. Six runners up in the ‘Pay With Excitement’ competition will be gifted an onboard speciality dining package for the whole family, so they can enjoy flavour-filled family feasts in the likes of Izumi and Wonderland.
