Bring Your Own Bottle (BYOB)

Most cruise lines are unanimous in not allowing passengers to bring their own alcohol aboard, with the exception of one or two bottles of wine or champagne. Guests bringing wine aboard may consume it in their cabin or pay a corkage fee to drink it in the ship’s dining rooms.

On board P&O Cruises ships, every guest over the age of 18 (or 21 years old for ports in the USA and UAE) may bring up to one litre of wine, Champagne, beer, spirit or liqueur on board as they embark the ship for the first time. Any amount exceeding this will be stored and returned at the end of the cruise.

All cruise lines reserve the right to remove alcohol at the gangway should the need arise. Any duty free alcohol purchased on board or in port will usually be held by the cruise line and delivered back to the passenger prior to disembarkation.
