Here at Bolsover Cruise Club, we’ve been delivering out-of-this-world cruise holidays for more than 60 years. It’s fair to say we are always on the lookout for new experiences we can deliver to our customers and, not ones to be outdone by the likes of Jeff Bezos and Sir Richard Branson, we are excited to introduce our new cruising concept: Starboard Voyages!

That’s right, we’re offering you the opportunity to be among the first to jet off into space on board our specially-commissioned ship. Designed, developed and built at our Cruise Centre in Barlborough, this extra-special vessel will be shooting for the stars in just a few weeks’ time.

Don’t worry, although the scenery might be a little different to what you’re used to, you will still be able to enjoy all your onboard cruising favourites. Great food comes as standard; served in our Zero Gravity Restaurant, it brings a whole new meaning to Michelin-starred dining!

There’s plenty of fun to be had for all the family on those intermittent ‘space days’ between planets. Visit the onboard cinema where we’ll be showing films such as Space Jam and Moonraker, or join one of our invigorating exercise classes, where you’ll do nothing but star jumps for an entire hour.

We can’t wait to see you on board Starboard Voyages really soon. In the meantime, here are the answers to some of your frequently asked questions.

FAQs

When will I be able to take a cruise on Starboard Voyages?

Our maiden cruise will be departing on May 4th this year. What more appropriate date to launch our cruises than on Star Wars Day?!

Do I need to provide my own space suit?

No! We have developed a range of extremely functional yet fashionable spacewear, which you’ll be assigned during the embarkation process, as modelled here by our MD, Michael Wilson.

Do I need my passport?

Good question! When you embark on Starboard Voyages, all you’ll need is a fingerprint ID. This is 21st century travel, after all.

How do I know it’s safe?

Rest assured we have followed all the strictest safety protocols when designing our ship, consulting with scientists and experts at NASA wherever necessary. We’ll run through all the safety procedures when you board, just as you would with a muster drill.

What excursions can I take part in?

This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, offering everything from shooting star spotting to tours of the International Space Station. Fancy following in the footsteps of Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong with a moon walk? Done! Want to go in search of Martians on the Red Planet? We can do that, too!

Is there a swimming pool on board?

No, don’t be silly. You’re in space. No water required, you’ll be swimming everywhere anyway!
