It isn’t illegal to plan a holiday.

It isn’t illegal to feel that rush of excitement as you hear the words “ok that’s all confirmed for you”

It isn’t illegal to finally, excitedly, put a date in your diary, when the last year has felt like a lightyear.

It isn’t illegal to pull last year’s holiday clothes from the top of your wardrobe, just to remind yourself what’s in there.

It isn’t illegal to feel butterflies at the thought of hearing that voice say “this is your Captain speaking.”

It isn’t illegal to feel giddy at the thought of that first warm breeze on your face as you step off the plane.

It isn’t illegal to think ‘where the hell is my passport?!’

It isn’t illegal to feel relieved beyond belief when you find it in the same drawer you put it in a year ago.

It isn’t illegal to miss the sun on your face.

It isn’t illegal to wish your morning moisturiser was SPF before a beach day.

It isn’t illegal to miss city views with your coffee breaks.

It isn’t illegal to crave sightseeing and street food.

It isn’t illegal to wish breakfast was on the balcony today (and every day).

It isn’t illegal to spend hours planning how you’ll spend days.

It isn’t illegal to countdown to a dinner you haven’t had to cook, with a harbour view and without a curfew.

It isn’t illegal to wonder whether you should invest in a new camera to take more holiday photos than ever of the ones you love.

While we’re all staying home and staying safe, it isn’t illegal to look forward.
