Marella Discovery 2 to Become an Adult-Only Ship

Marella Cruises has announced that Marella Discovery 2 will become a permanent adult-only ship, as part of the cruise line’s newly revealed winter 2027 programme.

The change follows growing demand for adult-only cruising and will see Marella Discovery 2 return for a second consecutive winter season dedicated exclusively to adults, before becoming a permanent part of Marella’s adult-only offering.

As part of the transformation, Marella Cruises will invest in four new adult-focused onboard concepts. Existing children’s areas will be replaced with new spaces including a speakeasy, escape room, karaoke room and arts and crafts area, creating more choice for guests looking for relaxed, grown-up experiences at sea.

Where Will Marella Discovery 2 Sail in Winter 2027?

Marella Discovery 2 will homeport from three destinations during the winter 2027 season. The ship will sail from Tenerife and Gran Canaria between November 2027 and March 2028, before moving to Malaga from March to April 2028.

One of the key new itineraries will be the seven-night Atlantic Fusion sailing, which includes a return to Agadir in Morocco. The itinerary will sail from Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, and visit Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Puerto del Rosario in Fuerteventura, Arrecife in Lanzarote, Agadir, Santa Cruz in La Palma and return to Las Palmas.

Marella Discovery 2 will also offer a selection of five- to eight-night repositioning cruises, including Canarian Collection 2 from Malaga. This itinerary includes Gibraltar, an overnight call in Funchal, Madeira, Santa Cruz in La Palma, Arrecife in Lanzarote, Las Palmas in Gran Canaria and Santa Cruz in Tenerife.

Enhanced Suite Benefits Across the Fleet

The cruise line’s Suite Service Max will also be rolled out across all Royal Suites, Voyager Suites and Executive Suites fleetwide. The service includes elevated in-suite comforts, exclusive dining privileges and additional touches designed to enhance the suite experience.

Marella Cruises’ winter 2027 sailings go on sale from 2 July 2026.
