Princess Cruises has announced updates to its Western Mediterranean itineraries, with Sun Princess offering additional ports of call during the summer seasons of 2026 and 2027.
The seven-day Western Mediterranean with Italy sailings, operating from Barcelona to Civitavecchia (for Rome), will now include more opportunities to explore European destinations.
The special 8 August 2026 Mediterranean with Total Solar Eclipse sailing will remain unchanged, with ports as currently published.
Ports of call
All voyages will visit:
- Corsica (Ajaccio) – Guests can visit the birthplace of Napoléon Bonaparte at Bonaparte Maison or explore the A Cupulatta Tortoise Sanctuary, home to over 180 species of tortoises and turtles.
- Genoa (for Cinque Terre) – Explore the five villages of Cinque Terre, which cling to the cliffs above the sea, and enjoy local food, including pesto tasting.
- Marseille (for Provence) – Visit Aix-en-Provence, walk down its main streets, or travel to the Basilica Notre-Dame de la Garde, located at the highest point in Marseille.
Additional ports by departure date
Depending on the sailing, guests may also visit:
- Mallorca (Palma), Spain – Ride a vintage train through the mountains to the village of Soller and sample olive oil from a 16th-century distillery.
- Ibiza, Spain – Walk along Las Salinas beach or visit D’Alt Vila, a historic fortified town with a castle and cathedral.
- Santa Margherita/Portofino, Italy – Discover the small villages along the Ligurian Coast, with narrow alleys and pastel-coloured houses.
Overnight in La Spezia
On select itineraries, Sun Princess will include an overnight stay in La Spezia, Italy, giving time to explore Florence, Pisa, and Tuscany.
These updates offer guests a wider range of experiences and destinations on the Western Mediterranean sailings.
