Regent Seven Seas to Expand Explorer Class Suites

Regent Seven Seas Cruises has announced plans to transform accommodation across its acclaimed Explorer Class fleet, introducing larger suites, a brand-new suite category and fewer guests on board following planned refurbishments in 2027 and 2028.

The Regent Explorer Class refurbishment will see Seven Seas Explorer, Seven Seas Splendor and Seven Seas Grandeur each reduce their suite count from 373 to 344, creating even more space for guests while further elevating the ultra-luxury experience.

Larger Veranda Suites

One of the most significant changes is the expansion of Regent’s popular Veranda Suites, which will become the largest entry-level suites in the ultra-luxury cruise sector.

Previously measuring 307 square feet, the redesigned suites will range from 415 to 464 square feet and will feature walk-in wardrobes, double vanities and larger balconies, offering guests considerably more living space.

New Horizon Penthouse Suites

The Regent Explorer Class refurbishment will also introduce the new Horizon Penthouse Suite to the Explorer Class fleet after its debut aboard the forthcoming Seven Seas Prestige.

Measuring between 616 and 722 square feet, these suites will feature oversized balconies, a separate bedroom, spacious living area and luxurious finishes, creating an elegant retreat at sea.

New Signature Suites

Each ship will also gain a new signature suite unique to its name.

Seven Seas Explorer will welcome the Explorer Suite, Seven Seas Splendor the Splendor Suite and Seven Seas Grandeur the Grandeur Suite.

Ranging from 821 to 918 square feet, these spacious accommodations will include a king-size Elite Slumber Bed, generous living and dining areas, one-and-a-half marble bathrooms and expansive private balconies. Guests will also enjoy Regent’s signature butler service alongside premium amenities including in-suite caviar service, fresh orchid arrangements, cashmere blankets and a personalised pillow menu.

Fewer Suites, More Space

By removing 29 suites from each ship, Regent is placing an even greater emphasis on spacious accommodation and personalised service.

The changes reflect the cruise line’s ongoing investment in its fleet, ensuring guests enjoy more room to relax while maintaining the high standards of luxury for which Regent is known.

When Will the Regent Explorer Class Refurbishment Take Place?

The refurbishment programme will begin with Seven Seas Splendor during a scheduled dry dock in November 2027.

This will be followed by:

• Seven Seas Explorer – April 2028
• Seven Seas Grandeur – October 2028

Once complete, all three Explorer Class ships will sail with fewer suites and enhanced accommodation throughout.
