What to Expect from P&O Cruises Ventura’s 2026 Refit
Discover what’s new after the Ventura 2026 refit, including updated cabins, restaurants, bars and entertainment spaces on P&O Cruises’ popular family-friendly ship.
Read MoreP&O Cruises’ much-loved ship Ventura has now completed her 2026 refit, which gave the cruise line the opportunity to refresh and maintain one of its most established ships.
Ventura is one of the cruise line’s most versatile ships, sailing itineraries ranging from Northern Europe and the Canary Islands to the Caribbean. Whether guests are on board for a short break or a longer escape, the ship offers a wide range of dining, entertainment and relaxation options.
To keep the ship looking its best and ensure the onboard experience remains modern and comfortable, Ventura underwent a scheduled refurbishment in February 2026, with updates across cabins, restaurants, bars and entertainment venues.
Here’s a look at the key areas of the ship that P&O Cruises refreshed during the Ventura 2026 refit.
Cabins and Suites
Guest accommodation was a key focus of the Ventura 2026 refit, with updates designed to make cabins feel more comfortable, stylish and contemporary.
Across Ventura’s cabins and suites, guests will notice a refreshed design that includes new carpets in warm, neutral tones alongside updated curtains, armchairs and bedside lampshades. These softer colour palettes help create a calmer, more relaxing environment after a day exploring ashore or enjoying the ship’s facilities.
Suites have received additional enhancements, including new decorative ceiling lights and updated desk and bedside lamps that add a more refined feel to the space.
Bathrooms and balconies have also been refreshed as part of the refurbishment, helping maintain Ventura’s reputation as a comfortable and welcoming ship for both short breaks and longer cruises.
Beyond the cabins themselves, the refit also introduced new carpets throughout many guest corridors and public circulation areas, including hallways, lift cars, lobbies and staircases. These updates help create a more cohesive and refreshed look across the ship.

A New Look for Ventura’s Atrium
The Atrium, the social heart of Ventura, has also been refreshed as part of the 2026 refit.
A striking new dance-floor design now takes centre stage, inspired by the traditional craft of marquetry. The floor features timber-effect planks and geometric patterns designed to create movement and depth within the space.
The design draws inspiration from symbols associated with Tyche, the Greek goddess of chance, and Fortuna, her Roman counterpart, with subtle references to braided wheat, ship sails and crowns woven into the pattern.
The result is a welcoming space that sets the tone for the rest of the ship.

Other Key Areas Refreshed During Ventura’s 2026 Refit
Ventura’s 2026 refit is a ship-wide refresh, with updates planned across cabins, public spaces, dining venues, bars, entertainment areas and retail. Rather than focusing on structural changes, the refit centres on comfort, atmosphere and design detail – the elements guests notice and interact with most during their cruise.
Restaurants
Dining is always a highlight of the cruise experience, and several of Ventura’s restaurants have received design enhancements.
Sindhu
The much-loved Sindhu restaurant has introduced new carpets inspired by traditional Indian block printing, where artisans stamp intricate patterns onto fabric using carved wooden blocks.
Deep red tones, henna-inspired patterns and woven textures create a warm and authentic dining environment.
Bay Tree Restaurant
Ventura’s Bay Tree main dining restaurant has undergone a significant refresh. New carpets blend abstract patterns with soft watercolour effects, while updated seating combines bold darker tones with softer earth colours.
Saffron Restaurant
The Saffron restaurant now features new carpets inspired by the colours and textures of the spice itself. Light marble-effect tiles at the entrance create a brighter and more welcoming arrival space.
Bars and Lounges
Several of Ventura’s most popular bars and social venues have also been updated.
Red Bar
The elegant Red Bar has received refreshed soft furnishings, curtains and wall coverings. A rich new colour palette blends deep ruby tones with accents of sapphire blue and champagne shades, enhancing the bar’s sophisticated atmosphere.
Tamarind Club
The Tamarind Club, a lively day-to-night venue for music and dancing, now features a refreshed colour scheme inspired by cool mint tones and the warm hues of tamarind. Updated seating and lounge areas make the space even more inviting for evening entertainment.
Havana
Ventura’s vibrant nightclub and show lounge, Havana, has been given a colourful refresh inspired by the architecture and vintage travel posters of Cuba. New carpets and updated upholstery capture the energy of Havana’s lively streets and tropical atmosphere.
Metropolis
Known for its panoramic sea views and live jazz, Metropolis has also been enhanced. New armchairs, lounge seating and coffee tables draw inspiration from the geometric patterns of modern city skylines and the play of light across glass buildings.

Poolside and Deck Bars
Ventura’s outdoor spaces have also been refreshed as part of the 2026 refit, with updates to several of the ship’s popular poolside and deck bars.
On the Lido Deck, Laguna Bar and Grill now features new blue-toned tiling on the bar façade, updated flooring and refreshed graphics behind the bar, along with upgrades to the surrounding pool and jacuzzi areas. Nearby, Beachcomber Bar has been enhanced with warmer caramel tones and a refined resin finish around the pool façade, creating a more polished look.
Terrace Bar has also been updated with soft turquoise tiling and a white-and-blue speckled floor, maintaining a fresh coastal feel. Meanwhile, Breakers Bar on the Sun Deck has been refreshed with butterscotch-hued tiling, blue ceiling accents and a matching speckled floor design.
Together, these upgrades help create brighter, more inviting spaces for guests relaxing by the pool or enjoying a drink in the open air.
Entertainment, Wellness and Other Enhancements
Several entertainment, wellness and public spaces across Ventura were also refreshed during the 2026 refit.
The ship’s two-tier Arena Theatre, which seats around 800 guests, has received a design update inspired by ancient Greek theatres. New cherry-red carpets feature geometric patterns that echo the curves and structure of traditional amphitheatres, while updated seat upholstery adds colour and drama to the venue.
The Oasis Spa and Salon has also been refreshed and now introduces a new Japanese Head Spa experience, offering relaxing treatments designed to improve hair and scalp health. The spa itself has been updated with new hair stations, refreshed flooring and a calming design palette blending soft neutrals with warm tones.
Elsewhere around the ship, several guest spaces have also been upgraded. The Photo Gallery now features new carpeting inspired by sunlit coastal landscapes, while Ventura’s retail areas have been enhanced with new seating, consultation spaces and updated boutiques. These include a premium watch lounge showcasing brands such as Tag Heuer and Longines, alongside jewellery boutiques featuring Pandora and Swarovski.
Additional improvements include refreshed seating in the Epicurean restaurant, new carpet in Waterside buffet and The Beach House, updated flooring in children’s clubs and new arcade machines for families. Tazzine café has also been refreshed with new flooring and seating, while Cinnamon restaurant now offers more tables for two to provide greater flexibility for Freedom dining.
