Wow.
What a great cruise.
7 nights to the Norwegian fjords on the lovely old Ambience.
First time for us on this ship and first time sailing from Tilbury.
Cruise was absolutely fantastic.
Spacious cabin ( cheapest inside on deck 9 ) with loads of storage space.
Kept spotlessly clean by our lovely cabin steward.
Public areas were superb and ports were interesting.
Norway has scenery to spare so it’s difficult knowing where to gaze in awe next ! Entertainment on board was really good particularly the murder mystery plays.
Last Tango in Berlin was great fun.
Not much to do during the day but that suits me fine.
My idea of daytime cruising is to sit down, watch the sea go by and occasionally fall asleep and drop my book ! I don’t want to be doing things all day ! But the best thing about Ambience is the amazing food.
Every meal was delicious and gala nights were actually worth dressing up for.
There was even a baked Alaska parade…something which I thought had disappeared from cruises years ago.
Well worth trying is the seven course menu in Sea & Grass.
Costs a little extra but it was absolutely brilliant.
The only disappointment during the whole week was our dire shore excursion trip on the Flam Railway.
Two hours in a boiling hot carriage with a very minimal view felt more like torture than a pleasure trip ! A lot of money for a very poor experience, I’m afraid.
Swiftly forgetting about that, though, I cannot recommend Ambience highly enough.
We had wonderful cruise and genuinely can’t wait to sail on her again.
