We have cruised for 20 years with our children and now without them.
We have been on P&O ,Celebrity , Princess and Royal Caribbean.
First trip with Ambassadors Ambition .
Guernsey , the Scilly isles and Le Halve for the 80th D Day Celebration’s.
First
impressions were at Bristol docks.
We arrived early and was guided to our car park then luggage drop .
We parked our car and we then checked in .
All very efficient and organised, we were in our cabin 30 minutes after arriving at the ships car park.
Staff were very professional and friendly and the ship was clean and our inside cabin was as expected.
The self service restaurant had a good selection of food and the free tea and coffee was excellent.
You can pay for barista coffee but no need .
The evening Dinner restaurant served delicious a la carte food.
A varied choice and delicious fish dishes daily .
The restaurants opened for breakfast with table service for drinks and special food requests.
It was self service otherwise .
That’s the only difference with this cruise line.
We sat at breakfast waiting for the menu.
The waiter then explained what he could serve us.
Poached eggs , bagels and eggs Benedict.
The usual breakfast choices were then self service.
Or you could go to the usual self service buffet restaurant on Deck 11.
Afternoon tea was good .
I’d say a better a la carte menu and choice of food than the last cruise on the P &O Britannia in 2023.
We did not pay to go to the speciality restaurants as we were very happy with our Buckingham restaurant’s selection of food.
The service onboard was efficient and the staff were very helpful.
The theatre shows were excellent and the singers , musicians who played all over the ship were excellent.
The entertainment team worked very hard and were very enthusiastic.
The ports were good with tenders and the D Day celebration trip was excellent.
The guide and the stops were brilliant.
Very well planned and an army Chaplin came onboard for a remembrance service .
There were servicemen onboard ship who I’m sure felt very proud and grateful for the ship’s organisation of celebrating this 80th anniversary.
A brilliant day was had by all onboard .A deck party with Bunting, Union Jack flags and war time music from the theatre singers .
We had no idea it would be such an entertaining ship .
The gym was well equipped and the usual spa treatments.
I only used the gym and free sauna and steam room that looked out to sea .
A lovely relaxation room to chill in too.
Stretch and tone classes were daily .
All with no extra cost.
This was a 6 night cruise and the activities were quizzes , talks and deck sports.
Live music in most bars and the theatre shows too.I’m sure there would be more activities on a longer cruise.
Alcohol was reasonable priced as we didn’t buy a drinks package.
To conclude we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.
If you want a personal small ship experience with no extra hard sell and delicious food then try this line.
It’s typical British cruising without bling .
We would recommend them
