We have sailed with Celebrity line for 5 cruises and we are noticing that there are cutbacks in every area to compete in a competitive market.
This ship is very tired and urgently needs a complete refurbishment.
The stateroom was clean and the steward looked after it very well but he is working with items well past their sell-by date.
The bathroom had a damp smell and looked as if it was something from the 1990’s.
The valance around the bed had holes and should have been scrapped.
Celebrity says they are 5 stars then they need to live up to that reputation.
The bed is comfortable and we had excellent nights sleep.
The Ocean restaurant is badly laid out and doesn’t appear to follow any logical pattern so you are walking back and forth at breakfast trying to find things.
Big queue for the toast each morning so if having a hot breakfast get the toast first.
Eating there in the evening go before 8pm as the food is warm, not hot and looks a bit tired.
The main restaurant is very busy but the staff we found were only too eager to please and the service was fairly fast when you consider how many people descend on it during peak times.
Again the food is warm and not hot but enjoyable, but not outstanding.
The entertainment, especially the shows, was the best we have seen on Celebrity ships.
Not enough staff on the bars and there appears to have been cutbacks everywhere with long wait times to get served whilst the staff were working flat out.
Kept up to date with cruise information by the captain and acknowledged by all the senior staff when they were walking around the ship.
Overall enjoyed the cruise but not outstanding.
