A cruise to Iceland via Guernsey, Cork and Belfast – Iceland was an interesting island – ice and fire.
The ship was very good and well organised.
Food very varied with lots of choices catering mainly for an American taste which was understandable but neverthless something for everyone.
State rooms were spacious and comfortable and kept spotless by the stewards – we had a balcony which was a great asset for great views coming into port and leaving as well as for whale watching – we saw some spouts and a huge pod of dolphins – we also sat watching the sun go down at almost midnight with beautiful sunsets.
The shore excursions were a little overpriced and did not leave much time for having a good look at where you were taken – the Giant’s Causeway trip took the motorway route both ways rather than taking the more scenic coastal route which takes no longer – too long on the coach.
One good guide on an Icelandic tour – she was German and very knowledgeable about the island.
The entertainment was varied – some excellent such as the resident backing group (orchestra) but the rest not as good as I have experienced on other American cruise lines.
Lots to do on board and on sea days – you could do as little or as much as you wanted.
The staff were superb – always smiling and always very helpful.
A most enjoyable cruise on the whole and I would definitely book with Celebrity again with Bolsover who were also very efficient.
