Another enjoyable cruise on Celebrity. All destinations were up to our expectations and the weather was exceptional in St Petersburg. We really enjoyed the city of Tallin and even though it rained the locals were really friendly in the annual craft market.Lithuania was an unknown quantity to us.We were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful scenery of the Curonian Spit.Very relaxing and the air quality was extremely good.As Celebrity Eclipse was the largest liner to arrive at Klaipeda we were welcomed by a band, national dancers ,the local Mayor and TV cameras.
If you cant risk missing an excursion do book early or if like us you miss one due to ill health do get on the waiting list because people double book then cancel them as they decide which one they want.
All the crew are very alert to any friction arising between any passengers. We experienced this slightly at the dining table of eight because of 2 slightly repulsive diners. We were regularly visited by the Maitre D,she offered us alternative seating but as we liked the other guests we refused to be upset by them and luckily they frequented other restaurants so we didn’t have to put up with them too much.
Another annoying thing was the 3rd formal night was moved at the last minute to facilitate viewing of World Cup Football without consulting the guests. It should have been on an at sea day but was moved to the Lithuanian day and as people were on trips it was a bit of a rush.
Surprisingly Poland was the most difficult country for toilet facilities even on the excursions.Although facilities were there they preferred local currency rather than the euro.Couldn’t the cost and arrangements be priced into the tour and the facilities be prearranged after all you have a guide and a badge for the coach. This was catered for when we went on Princess excursions.
