Overall this cruise ship was excellent, friendly staff, very clean and lots of nice bars and places to sit and relax.
The cabins were spacious although as usual storage is restricted.
We prefer to have tea/coffee making facilities in the cabin however room service was reasonably prompt.
The basic drinks package was definitely worth using as it covered all of our needs and we would have spent much more when considering wine a dinner, coffees during the day, not to mention pool bar and pre/post dinner drinks! We removed the $11.50 service bill per person per day and did our own tipping at the end.
This means the right people get the money (Not assistant matre-d / service manager) whoever they are! Note: you have to do this on board even if requesting removal via Bolsover.
They run a book on board and you have to sign to say you are removing the tip allowance.
The food was good but in our opinion the evening meals lacked variety even though the steaks were fantastic.
Lunchtime food was faultless and breakfast selection very good.
We used the Chinese restaurant one evening however although the service was good the food was not particularly great for us The entertainment was not that good and most nights they were at 7.00pm and 9.00pm – as we had second sitting at 8.30 it did not suit us.
(The last show which was circus based was good and there was a 10.45 showing which was better) Ths ship itself is really lovely and apart from not having a continuous prom deck we could not find fault.
Overall we would definitely use this ship again and I have only highlighted the issues we found for your information.
