This is 2nd time cruising with Celebrity and the first time on the Eclipse.We were a little apprehensive about the quality of the food as the first time we cruised with Celebrity on a different ship were not impressed with the food.Our departure point was Southampton and although we had been warned to expect possible traffic delays near the port we had no problems and excuse the pun but we absolutely sailed through check in.Our cabin was on deck 10 consierge and although people say it is not worth the extra it is an individual choice.The cabin was excellently presented and kept clean by Doris and Briam who maintained the same cleanliness throughout.
Our choice of dining in the MDR 2nd sitting table 213 with Alexandra and Swaraj our waiters who worked very hard and explained the courses of the menu every day.The Sommelier looked after us very well but sorry could not pronounce his name.We also had a Classic drinks package which was a bonus and although we do not drink alcohol during the day it was handy to use inCafe Al Baccio and we can honestly say we only had cakes on possibly three occasions.All the staff in theCafe worked hard but someone has to diplomatically mention to guests to vacate tables at peak times to allow other guests to sit down as a lot of people remain there playing cards or playing games on computers when there are other lounges to use.Now the food as stated the last time we cruised with Celebrity which was last year we were not impressed but this year it was excellent and professionally presented and we did not have to question the quality of any dish or return any,congratulations to the chef and his team.I recently read a review about this ship and someone gave to food 1.0 so I do not know where they are coming from it was certainly the same cruise or one before probably from a different planet.I have read reviews about people finding it difficult to get a drink,sorry but we had no problem they were probably impatient.It also made a difference having excellent diners on our table as we hit it off straight away.
ENTERTAINMENT-it is very similar on each ship again it is an individual choice you cannot please everyone.Some shows were not as good as others but we found that the late night adult shows were very good.To summarise,an excellent cruise with a good itinerary,shame about the weather but would not hesitate to go on this ship again.
