Unfortunately we had Norovirus on the ship, the first time we have encountered this in 20 years of cruising.
The staff worked very hard to contain it, we weren’t told how serious it was.
We weren’t allowed to pick up anything even butter or make a cup of tea in the end, which made things very difficult.
We found the dress code to be very confusing, it just doesn’t work.
On the whole the ladies dressed up every night and the men dressed down! The ship was poorly designed with lots of wasted space, and in the evening some entertainment was held in the main reception area which was very strange.
If you didn’t get a seat by the rails on the different floors you couldn’t see what was going on.
The shows in the main theatre did not compare with other cruise lines we have been on.
The emphasis on the whole cruise was selling, art, expensive goods, trips, etc.
My wife is gluten free and that was handled very well.
All the food in the self-service restaurant was labelled and they took the order for the main meal the night before as other ships have done.
The drinks package worked well.
The trips and our destinations were good.
On the whole we would not go on Celebrity again, but stick to P&O and Cunard.
