Definitley not a 5 star ship anymore.
Whoever re-designed the spa needs sacking.
This was my 51st cruise – 1st one taken in 1993.
Elite status with Celebrity, always where possible take a aqua cabin, but tbh thinking it is no longer worth it.
The Edge class ships dont place these cabins anywhere near the spa, the other ships no longer support with the old perks eg.
evening hors d’oeuvres, healthy decanter of drink etc etc.
The re-designed spa on Millennium was seriously poor – no traditional sauna, tiny steam room with manfunctioning light (flashing consistently), plus emergency button hanging off the wall with exposed wires!! Despite contacting the spa team nothing was done.
The only sauna available was a infra-red which is not suitable for those who wish to adopt the thermal experience ie; hot then cold.
These saunas are designed for assisting injured joints – why this would be put in a cruise ship at the expense of a traditional sauna I would never know.
One of the big draws for booking an Aqua cabin is the Blue restaurant – always been fantastic.
Not on Millennium – according to the waiters they have 2 flights of stairs to navigate when bringing the food – hence all food every night is cold.
We got sick and tired of sending back – it did improve slightly but not enough to warrant the extra paid.
Having said all of the above we still enjoyed the trip, I am booked on Celebrity Beyond in June in an Aqua Cabin – so will be interesting.
