Just returned from 2 x 7 day back to back cruises from Fort Lauderdale to the Caribbean.
First time with Celebrity and being a special occasion we upgarded to concierge class, which according to the brochure details we should have had speedy boarding, this wasn’t the case and there was no special meet and greet just got what all others got when boarding a small glass of sparkling wine, not even a welcome on board comment.
11.30am we wondered up top the floor to find our cabin but all floors where unaccessable due to room preparation.
Deceided to go to the buffett floor like all others and waited till 2pm to eventually go to the cabin.
Bags not arrived so we looked and saw them stored in in a corner with lots of others, so we picked them up ourselves.
Very nice cabin with balcony, big bathroom champagne and fruit in cabin.
First week cruise to Eastern Caribbean – 3 stops- then back to Fort Lauderdale.
Ship, shows, entertainment etc.
excellent.
Had 2 meals in speciality restaurants thought a bit expensive – extra 40 dollars pp considering we had already paid for food on board, but the food and service was fantastic.
The evening meal service in the restaurant first week was very good and could not be faulted.
Change of staff in the second week evening meal service was chaotic, I mentioned this to the Concierge who said it would improve, it didn’t, no side plates at the table, wine waiter dissappeared.
After 2 weeks we discharged with all others at 9.30am then queued for 1.5 hours to get bags and coach transfer to hotel.
First week Cruise 5* Second week cruise 3.5* due to change of staff.
Generally had a great holiday.
