We sailed to Cape Town in January for the first time on QE.
We were impressed with the art deco public area designs and warmth the chosen colours gave.
We travelled in a Princess Grill suite as we have done before on the Queen Mary but were disappointed with the layout, space and tiny balcony.
Whilst acknowledging that the QE is a slightly smaller ship Cunard have seriously compromised the ‘Grills Brand’ with these cabins compared to the Queen Mary.
It didn’t help that our cabin was opposite a crew stairway / stairs which was noisy and used constantly at all hours; none of this was pointed out by our agent Bolsover before booking nor was it visible on the ship’s deck plans.
Other than Bill Bryson the speaker programme was poor.
The food was of a high standard and the staff uniformly courteous and attentive.
